Spring is in the air, and with warmer weather and longer days many people start to plan for spring cleaning. I don’d know about you, but I eagerly want to open up our windows and get the stale feeling of winter out! You probably have a list of need-to-do chores in mind, but here is a helpful list of spring cleaning chores many people overlook.
- Look Up – Cleaning Tops of Cabinets, Appliances, Light Fixtures, and Fans.
When it comes to spring cleaning you probably dedicate most of your time to mopping the floors, wiping down walls, and sanitizing hard to clean appliances such as your oven. However, you might not be looking high enough. The tops of your fridge, cabinets, and fans collect dust and dirt over time.
With the help of a step stool and some cleaning supplies you can tackle this spring cleaning chore in no time. It may not be a noticeable area to clean, but you will be able to tell the difference in your air quality.
- Get Low – Cleaning your Baseboards.
Baseboards collect dust, dirt and scuff marks that you don’t notice until you get down low to take a closer look at them. Luckily, cleaning them is simple. Wipe down your baseboards with a damp rag and scrub the few hard to clean areas with a sponge.
- Clean and Flip – Your Mattress
You may clean your bedding often, but you mattress could use some freshening up every now and again. Vacuuming your mattress will help keep it clean and fresh by removing dust and dead skin. And by flipping your mattress seasonally will help prevent sagging in areas over time.
- Unload – Closets and Cabinets
I don’t know about you, but I seem to hoard unnecessary “junk” during the winter months that I just need to let go of come spring. Go into those need to tackle spaces and let go of “junk” you don’t need. Stuff like clothes you no longer wear, the drawer full of batteries and old cords, and the gear you never use, but seem to always hold on to and just donate it or throw it away. Things will start to look better and you will start to feel much better once you are done.
Don’t forget all these items when you do your spring cleaning– tackling everything on this list will give you a fresher apartment.
